An Ode to the Farming Industry of Dorset’s Countryside
Another from the series of Ansty area in the Dorset Downs. I made these triptychs in the studio after spending many hours walking and doing field sketches. High summer just before the harvest of wheat and barley, countryside comes alive with a unique vibrancy. The wheat fields, in particular, present a remarkable challenge to capture artistically due to their complex interplay of colors, textures, and the intense, often harsh, summer sunlight.
Summer, the season of “eye candy,” for artist offers an extraordinary palette of hues, shadows, and textures that shift throughout the day. my paintings I hope capture the timeless rhythm of Dorset’s farming and its mark on this county.
