This is my interpretation of the chalky cliffs located between Seatown and Beer, situated on the Devon-Dorset border. Having lived and worked in this area intermittently over many years, I have naturally been inspired to paint its landscapes. I hold a deep affection for this region, where the chalk cliffs characteristic of the East transition into the blue lias clay of the Jurassic Coast, renowned for its rich fossil heritage.

To the west, the scenery shifts to the striking red sandstone cliffs of Sidmouth and Ladram Bay. This location offers a unique vantage point, with views extending across both the Dorset and Devon coastlines. The area possesses a slightly more rugged character compared to Dorset, yet it is less wild than the more remote sections of the Devon coast further inland. It truly is a magical and distinctive landscape.
